Policies governing academic programmes, assessment, and student progression

Minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or equivalent recognised qualification.
Required subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology, and one other relevant Science, Technical or Commercial subject.
Credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
Direct Entry available for ND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree holders, subject to transcript evaluation and Academic Board approval.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) accepted based on evidence of competency.

Minimum 75% attendance is required for each course.
Students falling below the attendance threshold may be barred from examinations.
Attendance is strictly tracked through the LMS and practical sessions.

Continuous Assessment constitutes 40% of the final grade (assignments, quizzes, projects).
Final Examination constitutes 60% of the final grade.
Grading Scale: A (70-100), B (60-69), C (50-59), D (45-49), F (0-44).
Minimum pass grade is D (45%).
CGPA calculation is based on cumulative weighted points across semesters.

Students must pass all courses in a semester to progress.
Failed courses must be repeated in the next available semester.
Students are permitted a maximum of 2 attempts per course.
Students cannot skip to the next programme level without holding the current prerequisite certification.

Foundation Certificate: awarded upon successful completion of Semesters 1 and 2. Prerequisite for NHSA.
NHSA: awarded upon successful completion of Semesters 3 and 4. Prerequisite for NCSO.
NCSO: requires completion of Semesters 1-6, all practical competencies, Integrated Capstone Project, and 6-month industrial attachment.

Foundation Certificate: Normal 2 semesters, Maximum 4 semesters.
NHSA: Normal 4 semesters, Maximum 8 semesters.
NCSO: Normal 6 semesters + attachment, Maximum 10 semesters + 18 months for attachment.
Students exceeding maximum duration may be required to withdraw or seek readmission under the curriculum in force.

Students must present a valid student ID prior to entry.
No unauthorized electronic devices are permitted in the examination hall.
Strict examination misconduct policies are enforced; violations may result in expulsion.
Official results are published within 4 weeks of examination completion.

Requires a minimum of 6 months at an approved construction site.
Weekly logbook submission and verification are mandatory.
Joint evaluations by the employer supervisor and institute supervisor are required.
Candidates must demonstrate all stipulated practical competencies in a live environment.

Zero tolerance policy for plagiarism, cheating, or document falsification.
Structured misconduct hearing processes ensure fair review.
Penalties range from a formal warning to permanent expulsion depending on severity.
