Qualification Pathway
Your structured journey from admission to nationally certified safety professional.
Admission
Minimum 5 credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology. Direct Entry and RPL pathways available.
Semester 1
Foundation courses: Intro to OHS, Hazards, Legislation, First Aid.
Semester 2
Foundation courses: Risk Assessment, Safety Management, Fire Safety.
Foundation Certificate Award
Awarded after completing Semesters 1 & 2. Prerequisite for the NHSA programme. Normal duration: 2 semesters (maximum: 4 semesters).
Semester 3
NHSA courses: H&S Admin, Incident Investigation, Safety Auditing.
Semester 4
NHSA courses: Programme Development, Training, Compliance.
NHSA Certification
Awarded after completing Semesters 3 & 4. Prerequisite for the NCSO programme. Normal duration: 4 cumulative semesters (maximum: 8 semesters).
Semester 5
NCSO courses: Construction Safety Management, Fall Protection, Excavation.
Semester 6
NCSO courses: Project Planning, Advanced Risk Management, Emergency Response.
Integrated Capstone Project
Comprehensive assessment of applied safety planning.
Industrial Attachment
Supervised real-world experience on a registered construction site.
NCSO Certification
Highest credential. Recognised independent construction safety professional. Normal duration: 6 semesters + industrial attachment (maximum: 10 semesters + 18 months for attachment).
