Institutional Leadership
The Institute for Building & Construction Safety (IBCS) is guided by a distinguished council of occupational health and construction safety experts, experienced academics, and industry veterans. Our leadership is committed to the vision of producing highly competent professionals who protect lives and strengthen national infrastructure.
Through strategic oversight and transparent administrative processes, the leadership ensures that the Institute's competency-based education model remains responsive to the evolving demands of the construction sector and the broader occupational health landscape in Nigeria and across Africa.

Governance Structure
Responsible for maintaining academic standards, approving curricula, regulating assessments, approving examination results, and ensuring continuous quality improvement across all certification levels.
Develops and reviews curricula in alignment with NBTE requirements, emerging technologies, industry best practices, and applicable occupational health and safety legislation.
Oversees assessment processes ensuring fair, rigorous, and consistent evaluation of all candidates through continuous assessment, practical competency evaluations, and final examinations.
Monitors educational delivery and institutional partners, accrediting and approving training centres, instructors, and educational partners to maintain uniform delivery standards.
Regulatory Alignment
National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)
The Institute's curriculum frameworks are meticulously aligned with the standards set by the NBTE, ensuring our competency-based education meets the highest national requirements for technical manpower development.
National Safety Legislation
Our programmes reflect current national legislation, including the Factories Act and relevant building codes. Graduates are trained to enforce compliance and navigate the legal frameworks of occupational health.
Corporate Affairs Commission
IBCS is a fully registered educational institution with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria, authorized to provide education, competency assessment, and professional certification.
